Abstract

The objective of this publication is to describe the Global Value Chain (GVC) of
the automotive industry in Argentina, to develop a tool based on Value Stream
Costing (VSC) that facilitates the management of the analyzed chain. The
GVC approach is useful to analyze companies from countries like Argentina,
which are inserted in global chains as providers of services, supplies and
parts, and whose cost management must adapt to the criteria of the leading companies. It has been possible to develop the bases of an instrument that
allows a joint vision of critical variables for the analyzed industry.
