Abstract

Summary

This aim of this paper is to contribute with an analysis of the different ways of determining the costs of computer projects from the software engineering approach and the economic perspective proposed by the General Theory of Costs.

 

This is a descriptive quantitative research, based on a literature review of primary sources.

This research allowed us to learn about different ways of determining costs from the engineering and economic approaches, as well highlighting the generic characteristics of projects and in particular of computer projects.

 

Finally, the application of costing to a case determination is proposed through the application of costing techniques within the framework of the economic approach.

 

From this study, it is worth recommending the dissemination of the cost approach from the economic perspective, highlighting the usefulness provided for the determination of results, planning and administrative control of operations and decision making of the management bodies constituting in a source of information of utmost importance for management control.
